Job Description

This position includes the management and oversight of a fifteen bed adult SMI group home.  Clients placed at the Bowen Skills Center often are those consumers coming back to community placement from State Hospital or the Inpatient Unit and often display many high-risk behaviors.  The Manager position must be competent in Rehabilitation/Recovery principles.

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee acuity ratio of staff to clients to ensure client safety and day to day functioning of the Skills Center environment.
  • Assess clients in crisis and create safety plans in conjunction with Transitional Living Director according to policy and procedure.  
  • Implement appropriate level of interaction identified in safety plans, i.e. line-of-sight, one-to-one, admission to Inpatient Unit.
  • Complete investigations, with coordination from Risk Manager and HR department, involving abuse/neglect allegations from staff to staff, and staff to client, client to client, family to client.
  • Modify daily programming and staffing patterns as necessary to ensure a safe environment.
  • Ensure house is free of any dangerous/illegal activity.
  • Complete all required drills, evacuations exercises, and equipment inspections as determined by the PI Department.
  • Promptly report all needed repairs and safety concerns to Safety Manager/Risk Manager.
  • Responsible for Bowen Skills Center vehicle management including needed repairs by coordinating with Safety Manager.
  • Maintain and assist staff with professional boundaries with other staff and clients.

Job Requirements

Education: High school diploma or equivalent with five (5) years experience working with adult SMI population. Bachelors or Masters degree preferred.

 

Supervisory experience and working in a 24-hour setting preferred.

 

Satisfactory results from criminal background check.

Valid driver’s license.
